HEAL 2016 - HEaring Across the Lifespan

“Early intervention: the key to better hearing care”

The NHS and AHS Conferences (termed HEAL Conferences, since 2012) have become the place where a broad community investigating all components of hearing care across the lifespan can work together to merge contemporary research findings with cutting-edge clinical practice. Since the first NHS Conferences in 2000, the number of delegates and of the submissions has increased significantly across the years, paralleling the increasing demands of this ever growing field. Exceptional participation and vibrant discussions have made the meetings a great event. In 2014 delegates representing about 60 different countries, and many of our key supporters attended the HEAL Conference. The 2014 Program included more than 300 presentations in very lively oral and poster sessions, Keynotes, as well as Special Sessions and Satellite events. These presentation covered a perfect mix of topics including basic research on mechanisms of hearing and hearing dysfunction, medical issues related to programs implementation and patient management, psychosocial effects, as well as clinical decision making, quality assurance, and health policies. For some additional details from several key contributions from previous Como Meetings, check out the series of Research Forums published in the American Journal of Audiology in 2013, 2014 and 2015. (see, e.g. http://aja.pubs.asha.org/issue.aspx#issueid=929523)

HEAL 2016 will provide all delegates the opportunity to meet and share their latest research and clinical information, enhancing cooperation and exchange among all those who are part of this multifaceted community, in a truly international and multidisciplinary forum exploring all domains of infant and adult hearing.

To develop the spirit of the meeting, the program schedule is arranged to maximize opportunities for interaction among participants. The program will be structured in a few concurrent sessions, with time for interactive discussions to let delegates follow their own preferences for topics and discussions. Poster presentations will be an integral part of the Scientific Program and shall be organized in topics and sub-topics in a display area designed to facilitate interaction and exchange among attendees. The Program will be complemented by comprehensive exhibit. Ample time will be allowed for all participants to visit the exhibits and speak with exhibit representatives.

Be part of this, and enjoy the informative yet warm and relaxed atmosphere of Lake Como.
